Thank you to Wes and Susie Morrill!

Wes and Susie are two longstanding Rancho Cielo volunteers. Unfortunately, they are moving out of the area so they will no longer be able to volunteer with us. We asked them to share a bit about how they first connected with Rancho Cielo and what the experience has been like for them. Read their story below:

We became interested in Rancho Cielo and its programs initially through Wes’s experience as a member of the Board of Directors of the All.US Credit Union. All.US Credit Union had been supporting the programs at the Ranch for some time.

Susie began by volunteering in the administration office and from there, learned there were also volunteer opportunities at the Drummond Culinary Academy’s Friday dinners.

We decided to volunteer as a team and for several years worked the beverage service area preparing drinks, opening and serving wine, and working closely with the students giving them tips on how to better serve the patrons at the Friday dinners.

It has been a great experience getting to know multiple classes of students, seeing them progress to graduation and then careers in the foodservice sector, and working with great staff members like Chef Paul, Chef EJ, Laura, Wanda, and others.

The next chapter of our life has opened, and we will be moving northeast of Tucson where our new home will be built.

We will miss the good times at the Ranch and perhaps find other opportunities to serve youth in the greater Tucson area.

Our thanks to everyone at Rancho Cielo! They do an amazing job of guiding youth in desperate need of positive influence and mentoring at no cost to the student and the programs are funded by private donations and tremendous community support.

Best wishes to all,

Wes and Susie Morrill

Thank you again Wes and Susie! We'll miss you!
