Our staff members and volunteers support our youth in their efforts to feel good about themselves and others, learn marketable work and life skills, become responsible members of their communities, and continue their education.

Classroom Tutors (Mentors)
There is a significant need for dedicated, caring adults to serve as tutors/mentors for our students. Their proficiency ranges from early grade levels to high school. You don’t need to master a subject or possess a teaching credential. However, consistent participation, patience, and enthusiasm for helping others learn can make a big difference for our students. Commitment: 1 to 2 hours/week, preferably mornings. Students learn:

Administrative Support
Train as part of the front office to provide staff back-up as needed. Administrative experience is essential for this position. Customer service and previous experience with receptionist/multi-line phone required. Commitment: as needed.
Leadership Garden
Interested in gardening? Join our dedicated volunteers to keep our garden green and healthy. Students also participate in garden activities, making this a great bonding opportunity. Commitment: Monday and Friday mornings.
Development Research
Please help us find appropriate foundations and funding opportunities to support our programs. Research can be done independently. Commitment: 2-3 hours/week.
Program Assistants
Drummond Culinary Academy: Help us maintain student records, track alumni students, and help keep the program’s administrative tasks running smoothly. Flexible scheduling.
Academy Programs: Help with recruitment and outreach activities to enroll students in our Green Building and Culinary Academies. This is a busy but seasonal position, from delivering flyers and posters to helping with follow-up.
Volunteer Program: Help with recruitment, community outreach, and record maintenance. Flexible scheduling – some projects may even be done from home!
Green Building Ambassadors
Are you involved with the construction industry with a green building focus? Would you like to help develop and train your future workforce? Then, we need you to join our Green Building Ambassadors program. Activities include presenting to our Construction Academy students on your specialty and offering one or two of our students special insight/tour of your business. Help open doors for student success. Commitment: Flexible
Pro Bono Legal Team
Some of our students and their families are facing legal issues that may be overwhelming. There is a real need for legal support and guidance in family law, fines/citations, probation violations, other defense concerns and traffic infractions. Commitment: As needed.
Crafters
Are you willing to share your crafty side with our students? We are looking for a handful of people ready to lead craft projects mainly related to special holidays like Christmas, Valentine’s Day and Halloween. This position is flexible and seasonal. Class time for projects is approximately one hour.
There are also opportunities for groups, special projects and special events.
